A Kildare TD says the county is ‘relieved’ after being brought out of a local lockdown.
People there are waking up this morning to their first day out of localised restrictions.
Restrictions in the county were lifted with immediate effect on Monday, after the number of infections in the county went down.
James Lawless, Fianna Fáil TD for the Kildare-North constituency, told Ciara Kelly on Newstalk Breakfast it is a great relief.
“The county is relieved, it’s been very difficult.
“We were in our third lockdown actually because like the rest of the country we went through the spring lockdown, we got some respite in sort of June/July, and then 7th of August we were back into lockdown and we stayed in lockdown when Laois and Offaly came out of it about 10 days ago.
“So really I suppose the mood is one of relief, people are just glad to be out of it.”
