Ready for more Love, Simon? You’re in luck. The hit teen rom-com is receiving a TV series treatment for Disney’s forthcoming streaming service Disney+.
Love, Simon is a funny and heartfelt coming-of-age story about the thrilling ride of finding yourself and falling in love. It’s based on the best-selling young adult novel Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli. Greg Berlanti, who directed the film adaptation, sadly won’t be a part of the television series. Reportedly, the project is being eyed for This Is Us showrunners Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger.
Love, Simon, which starred Nick Robinson as the titular teen, earned nearly $67 million worldwide against a $17 million budget. Not only was it a commercial success but a critical hit as well. Most recently, it picked up Outstanding Film honors at the 2019 GLAAD Media Awards.
