Christina Aguilera and Demi Lovato don’t disappoint on their highly-anticipated duet. The ladies were set to debut their collaboration at this Sunday’s 2018 Billboard Music Awards, but X-Tina decided to drop it early. Honestly, if this doesn’t become a hit for both women, I’ll be shocked. I wouldn’t be surprised if some Grammy hardware comes their way as well.
“I believe our paths were destined to cross and I am so proud to come together from the pasts we’ve overcome; to the strong women we are today! You are truly a GEM, I have immense love and respect for you! You are an inspiration for future young girls of your generation. Beautiful work! #FallInLine @ddlovato ️” Aguilera wrote on Instagram
“Fall In Line” is the latest taste off Aguilera’s forthcoming LP, Liberation, out June 15. The midtempo ballad is an empowering anthem tailor-made for the #MeToo era. “Little girls, listen closely/ No one told me, but you deserve to know/ That in this world you are not beholden/ You do not owe them your body and your soul,” Christina kicks things off.
Lovato slays on her verse too. “Show some skin, make him want you/ Cuz god forbid you know your own way home/ Ask yourself why it matters/ Who it flatters, you’re more than flesh and bone,” she advises.
As expected, the vocal powerhouses display a masterclass in ad-libbing. Thankfully, they don’t overdue it, instead, delivering just the right amount.
Check out their future hit below. Can’t wait to see this deadly duo live on Sunday. Mark your calendar folks.
